Two basic premises underlie the USGA Handicap System, specifically that every player will try to make the best score at every hole in every round, regardless of where the round is played, and the player will post every acceptable score for peer review.

Score Posting Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of each golfer to post all acceptable scores as soon as practicable. The preferred posting method is through a handicap computer located at the club where the round was played but you may also post the round via the Internet, the GHIN Mobile App or the WSGA website.

Just a quick reminder that the 2018 score posting season begins on Thursday, March 1st. You may begin recording scores for rounds played within the boundaries of the Washington State Golf Association.

In the February 15, 2018 eRevision, we passed along information that gave you your score posting responsibilities and Equitable Stroke Control (ESC).

In addition, if you have/had a score from a round played before November 14, 2017 and you did not get it posted, you can actually do that at any time.

Trying to post a score via the Internet or on your mobile device, but you cannot complete the score posting process? Are you not receiving your bi-monthly handicap update? This could be because your club has inactivated your membership. All you need to do is pay your 2018 Membership dues at your club to continue taking advantage of all of the benefits of membership with the Washington State Golf Association.

Posting of Scores and Handicap Updates

Each year, the Washington State Golf Association observes a period of time (November 15th to the last day of February) when scores from rounds played within the boundaries of the WSGA are never acceptable for handicap purposes. If you however play golf during that period in an area (Hawaii, California, Arizona, etc.) that is still accepting scores for handicap purposes, you must post those scores as soon as practicable.
